New Depot in the Works for Wollondilly Council’s Operations

Wollondilly Shire Council has endorsed a plan to relocate the existing Council Depot and build a facility that will adequately support future service delivery for the Shire as it grows.
Mayor Matt Gould said, “Our current Depot is unfortunately too small and not fit for purpose to service our growing population.”
“It also doesn't provide the level of facilities our great staff will need to keep delivering the best service for the community into the future.”
“Council has endorsed a recommendation to take the next steps on securing a new location to build a larger, purpose-built Depot to serve us for the coming decades.”
“These projects do take time, but this is a fantastic first step and all going well we would be aiming to relocate the Depot in about five years’ time, or even sooner.”
The relocation of Council’s Depot is part of an overall strategy to ensure that the appropriate facilities are in place and available for the whole Wollondilly community.
The Depot could even become a new anchor tenant at a new location, that would provide even more jobs for Wollondilly.
Council will now work on finalising the ideal location, size and designs as it progresses with the relocation project.
