Current status
Unfortunately, Remembrance Drive has been significantly damaged by intense and prolonged rainfall, as well as historic failures that have seen lane closures by way of concrete barriers.
Failures include embankment slumps, rock falls, creep movement of the road embankment and cracking of road culverts.
Council is nearing completion of fixing the ‘razorback landslip’ – the top most of these sections protected by concrete barriers – with works involving stabilising the rock face with rock bolts and drapery nets.

Next steps
Council has determined a plan of works over the next 5 years to address these failures and ensure the safety of the road. In the short term Council will be resealing the road and carrying out the most urgent of culvert repairs required. This will be followed by a program of embankment and culvert repairs and replacements in the proceeding years.
We will continue to keep the community updated as we progress the Remembrance Drive remediation project.
FUNDING
This repair work will be funded by our Capital Works program over the next 5 years.
