 The Picton Botanic Gardens All Abilities Playspace & Amenities is now open for use. It includes a toddler and children’s playspace with a unique play feature and a boardwalk link between the two, incorporating sensory elements and water play. The new amenities block is also accessible.

This project is funded by the NSW and Federal governments through the Bushfire Local Economy Recovery Fund and the NSW Public Spaces Legacy Program.

Playspace items, bridge installation, pathways are now complete. Landscaping and mulch is underway.

The Picton Botanic Gardens playspace and amenities project is going great guns with the following activities in progress:

  • Play equipment installation in progress
  • Pathways progressing
  • Preparation work for softplay in progress
  • Shade sail poles completed
  • Seating and bench seating are progressing
  • Toilet block installation is completed
  • Fittings to be completed

The work on the all abilities playspace and amenities is coming along well. Pictured below shows the boardwalk that will go between the toddler and the children playspaces.  Playground components are starting to be installed.  The amenities building needs further fitout but is progressing well.

Picton Botanic Garden – Playspace

  • Piers for bridge are completed
  • Sandstone walls and log retaining walls are nearly completed
  • Base for main structure is installed
  • Play equipment is still in progress for install
  • Sandstone creek bed is nearly complete
  • Bridge install is in progress

Picton Botanic Garden – Toilet Block

  • Toilet block installation is completed
  • Electrical is in progress
  • Plumbing in progress

Picton Botanic Garden – Playspace

  • Councillor walk through prior to Easter - 28 March
  • Piers start shortly
  • Sandstone walls and log retaining walls are in progress
  • Some play items are installed

  • Toilet block has been installed
  • Follow up connections
