Our Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) provides Council with a framework to create a more inclusive and accessible place to live. Its purpose is to ensure we are supporting people with a disability and their carers to be involved fully in community life.
Inclusion is for everyone! A progressive and achievable Action Plan is one of the ways in which Council can work towards creating a more inclusive community where everyone feels like they belong. We made this plan with the help of many people in our community including people living with a disability. We would like to thank everyone who helped!
Check out our DIAP to learn more about our intended actions over the next 4 years as well as some keys statistic in our area, what our community told us and Councils planning and reporting process!
Mayor Matt Gould chats with local resident Eric Third about why Council’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan is important to him and the wider community.
