Initial refurbishments will see Council meetings move to the Shire Hall. The Council meeting chambers will be located in the space formerly used by Children’s Services administration offices, with these offices relocated to Argyle Street. The floor in the small hall will be replaced, the floor in the main hall will be levelled and polished, a new kitchen and amenities block will be constructed.
The remainder of the refurbishments – better climate control, improved changing facilities, and the stage area being opened up for outdoor performances – will be completed later in the development, likely during Stage 3.
New parking options will be made available in Walton Street, which is a location with convenient access to shops and services.
This building will house Childcare and our Children’s Services administration offices.
Wollondilly Shire Council have awarded the construction of the new Children Services Building to Patterson Building Group as part of Stage 1 of the Precinct, co-funded by the Western Parkland City Liveability Project.
The new building will facilitate the relocation of Council’s existing 30 place before and after school care and vacation care services, and has capacity to accommodate a future 30 place preschool in a modern and fit for purpose building.
This project commenced in late September 2021, with the completion date in late-2022.
