The project

The work on Remembrance Driveway will consist of embankment regrading, drainage improvement, geotechnical stabilisation, and the installation of rock bolts and rock fall mesh. Engineers will investigate the condition of the road, and depending on the outcome this will open the way for the removal of the concrete barriers.

Once the work is completed, it should strengthen the embankment to lessen the likelihood of further damage in the future. It is estimated that the project should take approximately six months to complete.

The project is co-funded by the NSW Disaster Recovery Fund as part of a bulk grant for damage caused effecting roads in the severe weather and flooding of February 2022.

Updates

Drapery netting, concrete shot, rock bolts and rock removal work is all now complete at the landslip site on Razorback. A cleanup is now in progress to finalise the project.

The team has been busy over the last few weeks drilling anchors on the crest of the cliff. Next week will see the start of drapery nets and rock bolt installations. The project is progressing well and is on track for completion in September.

Work to repair the rockfall and landslip on Remembrance Driveway, Razorback is coming along well, with rock bolting and mesh drapery to start shortly.

Works expected to continue through August if the sun continues to shine.

Here is the latest on the work on the landslip on Remembrance Driveway, Razorback.

  • Vegetation clearing and slope regrading complete.
  • Rock stability treatments commencing (rock bolting and mesh drapery).

 

Fortunately the rain on the weekend didn't affect the works on the Razorback landslip project. The work is progressing well with the bulk earthworks nearly completed. Next step will be rock stabilising treatments that will begin soon. Traffic will not be affected during the stabilising treatment.

Our contractors will start work repairing landslips on Remembrance Drive at Razorback on Monday 26 February. Speed will be reduced to 60km per hour through the area and traffic controllers may be in place between 9am and 3pm, outside of the morning and afternoon peak. The work is expected to take around 6 months to complete. Please drive safely through the site.
