Wollondilly Council is offering residents the opportunity to replace their back yard weed trees (African Olive, Small and Broad leaf Privet), with environmentally friendly native bird loving alternatives at no cost.
This initiative will focus on the education of weeds, awareness of the weed issue's in the Wollondilly shire and fostering the safe and responsible removal of the weed species.
A diverse selection of native plants are available for ex-change at the Robyn Davies Wollondilly community Nursery.
Just head into the Robin Davies Wollondilly Community Nursery with your before and after photos of the weeds being treated and we will replace the eradicated weeds with eco friendly native ones.
Conditions do apply:
- Weed trees should be no shorter than 2m high
- Maximum of 20 native trees per local land holder per quarter
- Disposal of weeds through green waste bin, or if using councils wood chipping service, stumps must be less than 400mils thick and at least 1m in length.
