The Project 

The Performing Arts Centre in Picton is a multi-format Performing Arts Centre will provide a state-of-the-art local venue for music, theatre, exhibitions and civic events, and will be a major injection into the cultural life of Picton and the wider Wollondilly area.

The Centre also includes a 350-seat venue for performances and large functions. It will bring more visitors to Wollondilly and will be the jewel in the crown of the Wollondilly Cultural Precinct.

The completion of the Performing Arts Centre will wrap up Stage one of the Wollondilly Cultural Precinct, which includes the Shire Hall refurbishment, Library renovation, new Children’s Service Building and new Performing Arts Centre.

This project is funded by grants including the Western Parkland City Liveability Program, Create NSW & Westinvest, developer contributions and building renewal funds.

Updates

On 30 July, we held an unveiling of the Wollondilly Performing Arts Centre (WPAC) for special guests to have a sneak peak of the facility.  

On 16 November we have a HUGE Big Bang Launch Party with a popular headline act that will be announced soon, so watch out for that!

Here is the Progress Report for WPAC for April 2024.

 

 

The Performing Arts Centre is progressing well. Here is the latest update:

  • Plant room external walls are being cladded,
  • Internal walls 87% completed,
  • Roofing sheets is nearly complete,
  • Building Air-conditioning system 80% completed,
  • Fire system being 95% completed,
  • External northern walls being cladded,
  • Skylights being installed,
  • Symphonic drainage lines 99.9% installed,
  • Glass panels to Menangle street being installed,
  • Power upgrade to building under construction,
  • Substation installed,
  • Foyer bar being installed,
  • Tiling of ground floor toilets completed,
  • Solar panels installed,
  • Library fire hydrant under construction,
  • Sewer and fire system lines in the Council car park completed,
  • Colden Street external wall panelling 33% completed
