Our scheduled Household Chemical CleanOut event has been cancelled until further notice. This is due to a major fire at Cleanaway, the facility responsible for processing hazardous waste collected at this events.
The impact of this fire extends beyond the Wollondilly area, affecting all scheduled chemical cleanouts across NSW. Additionally, Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) are currently restricted in the types of waste they can accept.
We understand this may be inconvenient and we appreciate your patience while we wait for further updates from the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA). As soon as a new date is confirmed, we will notify residents.
For more details on the fire and its impact, you can read about it here: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-02-04/st-marys-fire-western-sydney-cleanaway-factory-site/104896326
If you have any questions or need to discuss alternative disposal options, please contact NSW EPA Environment Line 131 555.
