Wollondilly residents have faced many disasters in recent years, including droughts, fires, floods, and a pandemic. Volunteers play a crucial role in every stage of these events, especially in helping our community recover.
Recovering from a disaster takes time. Our community may need long-term help from volunteers with clean-up efforts, delivering essential goods, and providing care and support to those impacted.
To help with recovery efforts, Wollondilly Shire Council, with support from the NSW Government, has set up a Disaster Recovery Volunteer Database. This database helps Council connect volunteers with recovery agencies and community groups, making it easier to organise and send out volunteers where they are needed.
Volunteers will be called upon based on the needs of partnering recovery and community organisations, taking into account factors like location, skills, and the number of volunteers required.
Registering as a volunteer does not guarantee that you will be deployed. By registering, you agree to share your information with Council and its partner agencies.
You can remove your information and withdraw consent from the database at any time.
You can read more about the terms and conditions of the Disaster Recovery Volunteer Database here.
If you are a recovery agency or community group in need of volunteers for disaster recovery efforts, please fill out our online form to request assistance.
