Are you, a family member, friend or neighbour celebrating a special birthday or wedding anniversary?
Wollondilly residents can now receive personal letters of congratulations/celebration certificates from the Mayor to commemorate special milestones.
The Mayor will send a message of congratulations to people who are turning 90, 95 or 100 years of age (or more), or to couples celebrating 50, 60, 70 or 80 years of marriage. The Mayor is also happy to attend 100th Birthday celebrations.
Please advise the Mayor's Office immediately if circumstances arise that makes it inappropriate for a commemorative message to be sent (after initial requests have been submitted).
Upon making a submission for a special message, supporting documentation is also required as part of your request. The supporting documentation is for Council to verify the details for example wedding anniversary/special birthday. When submitting supporting documentation please only submit copies (no originals).
Supporting documentation may include the following:
Submit the message request no later than three weeks before the date of the wedding anniversary/birthday. This will help ensure the message arrives on time.
If you are unable to submit the request three weeks in advance, we cannot guarantee delivery by the anniversary or birthday date.
If you are requesting the messages on behalf of a loved one, we can post messages in advance of the anniversary or birthday date, for example where a surprise party is being held before the anniversary or birthday date. We do ask that if you require the special message in advance, to let us know you need it in advance and provide the date required.
You can request a message up to six months after the birthday or wedding anniversary.
To arrange a message, follow these steps:
Step 1: Gather supporting documentation for the relevant birthday or wedding anniversary. The supporting document needs to clearly state the full name or names of those celebrating the anniversary, and the date of the birthday/anniversary.
Step 2: Please complete all fields in the online form and upload attachments as required.
Council will post special birthday/anniversary messages to recipients via ordinary mail. If you are arranging a message on behalf of someone and want it to be a surprise, we can send it to a different postal address (if provided).
