  Wollondilly Shire Council welcomes a $50,000 grant from the Office for Regional Youth, Children and Young People Wellbeing Recovery Initiative, in response to the significant floods and storms which impacted the Shire in 2022.

  Wollondilly’s Australia Day Award winners were announced at Thursday’s ceremony as part of the traditional celebrations in the Picton Botanic Gardens.

• Wollondilly Council offers courses for young women in non-traditional roles

  Wollondilly Shire Council has been awarded a grant of almost $50,000 from the Department of Communities & Justice to run the Engaging Young Women in Non-Traditional Trades project in 2023/24.
  
  The project will make it possible for 15 young local women to undertake training that will help them gain employment in a trade.

• Council adopts new community transport service model

  Wollondilly Council has committed to continuing to provide of a community transport service for its growing and changing community, directly funding third-party providers so community groups can use the service.
  
  This updated model will mean eligible Wollondilly based community groups can use suitable third-party transport services to hire either an appropriate vehicle, or a vehicle and driver, with Council footing the bill up to the value of $500 per trip.
