Wollondilly Councillor Judy Hannan has won the Elected Representative Award – Metro in the 2023 Ministers Awards for Women in Local Government. The award recognises an elected representative who has excelled in supporting and encouraging women’s participation in their Council.
The award was presented at Parliament House in Sydney today by the Hon. Ron Hoenig MP, Minister for Local Government and the Hon. Jodie Harrison MP, Minister for Women.
Mayor Matt Gould said “I congratulate Councillor Hannan for receiving this award and being recognised for her contribution to the support of women. She has served on Council for 19 years, three of those as the Mayor and has always worked hard for the residents of Wollondilly.
“Judy has been a committed advocate for women and has actively participated in programs encouraging women to become involved in local government.”
“I’m delighted that both our CEO Ben Taylor and Councillor Judy Hannan have been recognised in the Ministers Awards for Women in Local Government. They both lead by example and the recognition in receiving these awards show that Wollondilly Shire Council is in a strong position leading into the future,” he said.
