  What is an Alcohol-Free Zone?An alcohol- free zone is an area where it is illegal to consume alcohol 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Any person seen drinking in an alcohol- free zone may have the alcohol in their possession immediately seized and tipped out or otherwise disposed of by Police.  Once established each alcohol- free zone is in place for a maximum of four years.

  Response by Wollondilly Shire Council to the announcement by the NSW Government for a new plan to deliver conservation legacy for Western Sydney.
  
  Wollondilly Mayor Matthew Deeth has welcomed the release of the draft Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan by the NSW Government last week.

• Smart Telopea Park Buxton Trial

  In exciting news for the Buxton community, Wollondilly Shire Council has partnered with OneWiFi & Infrastructure and the NSW Government to trial free public Wi-Fi at Telopea Park in Buxton.

  Wollondilly Council has elected Cr Robert Khan to serve as its Mayor and Cr Michael Banasik as Deputy Mayor for the 12 months leading up to next year’s Local Government Election.

  Welcoming the Federal Government’s announcement of a $4.5 billion investment in better access to ultra-fast broadband, Wollondilly Council has invited the National Broadband Network (NBN Co) to partner with Council and the community to address current and emerging needs in the area.

• Warragamba Pool to open for long weekend

  Warragamba Pool is opening for the season on Saturday 3 October, giving locals a chance to make the most of the warm weather predicted for the long weekend.
  
  Council will be managing the pool for the foreseeable future and will open the facility from 9am-3pm each day for the rest of the school holidays.

  Wollondilly Council will consider the concept design for an exciting new performance space in Picton, part of the Wollondilly Community Cultural and Civic Precinct, at its next Council meeting.
