Wollondilly Library has welcomed the news that they have been successful in securing $332,272 through the NSW Public Library Infrastructure Grants.
Public Library Infrastructure Grants are for projects that will assist NSW Councils to improve public library infrastructure. The funds have been directed to projects that provide significant public benefit and develop improved public library services for NSW communities.
Mayor Matt Gould said, “The grant will enable us to adapt to the evolving needs of the Wollondilly Shire as our community continues to grow.”
“The Wollondilly Library is taking a significant step forward by advancing our current mobile service with the introduction of a state-of-the-art vehicle to replace one of the existing mobile library vehicles.”
“Known as an Adaptive Mobile Library, the service will offer an enhanced and more accessible experience due to the specialised van layout. In addition to our regular lending services, it will provide vital outreach and technical help services with an integrated tech hub.”
“I’m delighted to see the Mobile Library service grow and adapt to better serve the needs of our community. The funding will help us improve on our already fantastic service and deliver a more diverse and flexible range of resources,” Mayor Gould added.
