National Science Week 2023 looks set to be bigger and better than ever in the Wollondilly Shire, thanks to funding announced through the Federal Government’s Inspiring Australia program.
Wollondilly Shire Council has welcomed the $4,300 contribution which will see the event grow into an exciting full-scale collaboration between the Library and Environmental Services teams to create Sustainability in the Dilly.
A range of events for children and adults will be held during Science Week, with activities running from Saturday 12 August to Friday 19 August.
Mayor Matt Gould said, “The aim of Sustainability in the Dilly is to engage the Wollondilly community in the practical and accessible science of sustainability.”
“Science Week provides a great opportunity to encourage more people of all ages to pursue their interest or aptitude in science and in particular, to learn how they can make their lives more sustainable.”
“We have hosted Science Week activities before, but on a much smaller scale, so we are very excited to be successful in our grant application to make it bigger and better. Thank you to Inspiring Australia for supporting this fantastic initiative.”
