Council calls for Australia Day Nominations in Wollondilly
Posted on: 13.12.2022
Council is calling for nominations of people who live and volunteer in Wollondilly, who would be worthy recipients of an Australia Day Award.
As an added bonus, any person who nominates an individual or group for the Australia Day Awards 2023 will automatically be entered into the Nominator Incentive Draw, with over $500.00 worth of prizes to be won.
Nominators could win gift vouchers for some of Wollondilly’s favourite local restaurants and clubs, gifts from the Kids Cottage Picton, and much needed fuel vouchers.
Mayor Matt Gould has encouraged residents from across the Shire to celebrate those who make such a difference to the community.
“The challenges of 2022 have highlighted the commitment of the many amazing individuals who are part of the Wollondilly community,” he said.
“It may be someone who runs the local sporting group or volunteers with the fire brigade, or someone who helps out at the school or the local RSL branch.”
“We have such a strong community spirit in our Shire, and this is our chance to recognise those who have made a particularly important contribution this year.”
Wollondilly’s Australia Day Celebrations will include both a formal ceremony with an Awards and Citizenship Ceremony, as well as a community event offering live entertainment, amusement rides, food and market stalls.
Australia Day Award Nominations close on Friday 6 January 2023.
