The Performing Arts Centre
You will have noticed some changes in the Wollondilly Cultural Precinct with the demolition of some buildings to make way for the Performing Arts Centre.
The demolition of the RFS building, Masonic Hall and old Children's Services Cottage should be completed soon and construction should begin by April.
The multi-format Performing Arts Centre will provide a state-of-the-art local venue for music, theatre, exhibitions and civic events, and will be a major injection into the cultural life of Picton and the wider Wollondilly area.
Children's Services Building & Library Renovations
Construction teams are now putting the finishing touches on the new Children’s Services Building and the Library renovations. They are expected to be ready for use by April 2023.
The new Children’s Services Building will facilitate the relocation of Council’s existing 30 place before and after school care and vacation care services, and will accommodate a 30 place preschool in a modern and fit for purpose building.
Renovations to the Library building will result in a larger and more functional space for community members to browse collections, work remotely, collaborate, and read. The newly created Community Lounge on the first floor will include large tables for group work, comfortable chairs to sit and read and access to power to charge personal devices. There will also be two study rooms for booking by library members at no charge. In support of people living with disability assistive technology will be available for use including sit stand desks to assist with mobility and magnifier hardware to support people with vision impairment.
