Team Leader
It has been a delight to work in the early childhood profession for over 16 years. Graduating with a Diploma of Children Services in 2005 and at present working towards my Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) qualifications. I have had the opportunity to work in an array of children’s services; Long Day Care, Out of School Hours Care and Family Day Care.
In my role of Team Leader of Children Services, Director at Wollondilly Preschool and Nominated Supervisor of Family Day Care, I am proud of the professional and caring way in which all staff deliver high quality education and care for families in the Wollondilly Shire community. Demonstrating commitment, knowledge and passion to the Children Service sector, each and every day.
I believe strongly in the benefits of play-based learning and this is reflected in the philosophies of our Preschool and Family Day Care Services. Linking the strong foundation of the Early Years Learning Framework and the Education and Care National Regulations. Such pedagogy has an impact on our decision making; the ethics of respect for individuals, inclusion of all children, building of identity through trusting relationships and partnership with families and the wider community. Therefore, supporting all our Children Services here at Wollondilly Council. While providing the children in our care the skills to flourish throughout their life.
Child Development Officer
I started my career in early childhood as a mothercraft nurse. I have worked across a range of services including Occasional Care, Long Day Care, Year Round Care and Preschool. I have also worked as a Family Support Worker, casual tutor/lecturer at Sydney University and in a specialized program for children at risk.
I started working with Wollondilly Family Day Care in 1994 and it was during this time that I acquired my Diploma and then my Bachelor of Teaching.
I believe that Family Day Care is a professional early childhood service that provides children with a highly individualized program where educators develop meaningful relationships with the families and children in care. I was also extremely fortunate to have used family Day Care for my own children before commencing with the service.
Child Development Officer
My name is Mandy and I hold my Diploma of Children’s Services.
I have had 40 years’ experience in Children’s Services.
Since I left school I have worked in a variety of Long Day Care Services and Preschools before moving over to be a Child Development Officer in Family Day Care 18 years ago after returning from a trip around Australia.
My passion was to always work with young children as I felt this was going to be my life long career.
I enjoy watching children learn and play and develop through their interests and fellow peers.
My interests are travelling with my husband in our caravan to different parts of Australia, getting out in the garden where we are now getting satisfaction from growing our own produce and using my imagination to create crafty pieces.
