Growth In and Around Appin

View from Warragamba Lookout

A series of workshops were held in June and July 2015 about future growth in and around Appin.

The objectives of the workshop were to:

  • Inform Appin residents about the strategic planning process and what current processes affect Appin and Council decisions.
  • Identify the concerns held by residents and other local stakeholders about growth in and around Appin.
  • Engage residents and other local stakeholders in a broad discussion about growth in and around Appin.
  • Establish open lines of communication with Appin residents.

The Workshops:

Two initial workshops were held on 10th and 17th June 2015. At these general sessions there were presentations by planning staff from the Department of Planning & Environment and Council. The presentations were about the strategic planning process and how it could affect growth in and around Appin.

The initial sessions also involved topic based group discussion to identify community views about growth in and around Appin.

The key issues identified in the initial workshops formed the basis of a further focused workshop held on 15 July 2015 which was attended by community representatives from the two initial sessions along with Council staff.
